Client: Genworth Financial


Genworth Financial (Genworth) is a leading provider of Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI) and credit enhancement product solutions in Australia and New Zealand.
Collaborating with over 200 lenders, Genworth has built a reputation for being experts in understanding the evolving mortgage market, and has financial strength underpinned by AU$300 billion of residential mortgages insured since 1965.

Establishing the relationship

Genworth Financial has been utilizing Excite IT’s services for approximately 2 years and continues to regards Excite as its supplier of choice for Operational and IT support.
This ongoing relationship is in recognition of both the quality and value of the service Genworth receives from Excite IT.
Excites’ track record with Genworth commenced when Excites’ team stepped in to cover Infrastructure Management responsibilities and then seamlessly managed the relocation of Genworth’s three CBD-based offices to North Sydney, along with approximately 300 staff, over a well planned and executed 10 week period.

Delivering value

Having built a strong understanding of Genworth’s operations, and established relationships with key vendors as well as other third parties, Excite wasn’t satisfied with just facilitating a successful relocation solution, which was admittedly mission critical and vital for Genworth’s future expansion!
Excite went beyond its mandate to deliver additional value in leveraging the strength it had in other areas such as procurement, telecommunications/vendor management, data centre design and infrastructure management freeing up Genworth resources to focus on other non-IT aspects of the relocation.
This consistent approach of being flexible and going beyond the call of duty to deliver value, is Excite’s main point of differentiation and one that its highly regarded for.

Achieving measurable results

To ensure a long-term solution was provided, Excite identified and factored in future requirements in the design of the new office and data centre facilities.
The team developed detailed project management plans which ensured clear roles and responsibilities were engaged and a timely execution was achieved. The thorough up-front work and team experience prevented potential roadblocks and all tasks were delivered prior to the relocation date.

Excite also ensured high quality documentation of all cabling as well as a suitable maintenance process was developed and in place to ensure security and currency of all cables.
Genworth to this day (approximately two years after the relocation), can easily and confidently determine which port every workstation, printer and phone is plugged into without having to check the physical patch panel.

The Excite team was capable of performing a successful relocation project over the 10 week timeframe, whilst maintaining a high standard of support services being delivered to ensure business as usual operations.
All users and servers were relocated seamlessly and the new office was operational by the start of business on the appointed date.
Excite continues to support Genworth in a broad range of IT needs.
