Excited to Give Back – Community Reach Program
Together with our employees, we are passionate about giving something back to better the lives of others and through this are actively involved within the Community.
Excite IT’s Community Reach Program has committed to increasing opportunities and improving the quality of life in our local communities. We have fulfilled this commitment through participation in volunteering and donations made to non-profit organisations who have emphasis on improving other’s quality of life. These programs and initiatives are championed by Excite Employees, Partners and Clients and provide many volunteer opportunities.
Excite IT have chosen to work closely with Vinnies Australia and are working towards forging a strong relationship by growing their volunteer base through participation of our Employees, Clients, Partners and Affiliates.
Vinnies and The Night Patrol Program
The St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies) is the largest provider of services and support for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness in NSW. While it is their aim is to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness by working on a one-to-one basis with homeless men, women and families, many hundreds of people are turned away from their 37 homeless services each night due to lack of space and funding.
This organisation and it’s people possess uncompromising passion to help others.
Started in the 1960’s, Sydney Night Patrol goes out 364 nights a year visiting Martin Place, Central Station and Ward Park Surry Hills. Approximately 56 groups of volunteers service the two vans once every month. This frequency allows volunteers to build friendships with those they meet and serve.
Excite IT are excited to be part of this initiative and will be frequently involved in the New Year. We will be responsible for the following, 1-2 nights per month:
- Put a team of 5-6 together
- Supply and preparation of food
- Drive the truck to various designated stop points
- Serve food with a smile to the homeless
- Make friends through positive conversation
How can You Help?
If you are a Client, Partner or Affiliate of Excite IT and are interested in participating in our Community Reach Program, you can so via multiple methods listed below:
- Donate Time – participate in the Night Patrol Program
- Donate Food – present either prepared (baked cakes, etc.) or purchased
- Donate Money – supply monetary donations to assist those less fortunate
- Donate Clothing – give outgrown clothes and still of good quality
- Donate Used IT Equipment
